About Yolanda

I am a Malaysian Chinese from the island of Penang. I came to England 49 years ago to pursue a Nursing career. I am now a retired Neonatal Staff Nurse, I have worked at The Special Care Baby Unit at The Horton Maternity Hospital for 26 years.

I am a volunteer (Digital Chamption) at Age UK Oxfordshire (based in Banbury), and have been a member of the fundraising team for the last 4 years.

I am also a volunteer for the Katherine House Hospice and I help in their annual fundraising events.

And most recently (June 2017) I am a volunteer for St John's Catholic Church in Banbury - Windows Fundraising Committee.

Since my retirement from nursing, I now concentrate on my business. I enjoy and am passionate to share my love of Malaysian cooking with people, especially those who are keen cooks and prepared to be interesting in their cooking.

I have self-published a cookbook 'A Taste of Malaysian Cooking'. From the sales of my books I have donated half my proceeds to chosen charities. To date I have sold more than 1500 books.
